My honey and I drove down with Elijah yesterday to drop him off at camp. It is a camp for children with Tourette Syndrome in Texas. He was very excited all the way down. We stopped at the hotel to drop off our things and then took him to his camp. He got his lanyard and name badge. We dropped his luggage off and amp staff would get it to his cabin. Dropping off his medicine took the longest, but still was too hard.
One of Elijah's teachers volunteered to go to camp with him. The woman in charge asked if there was anyone who new sign language who could come with Elijah. When his "ears" are off, he is deaf. The school principal worked with me to find someone. Communication breakdowns lead you undesirable behavior and his speech can be hard to understand at times. Elijah was very happy to see his teacher there.
I have never been away from Elijah and not been able to talk to him. I can't wait to see him tomorrow and see what fun he had. There is a presentation in the morning and we will eat lunch there. We will then drive home. My honey and I enjoyed our day exploring downtown Brenham. We had an awesome lunch and will head to dinner in a bit. I hope to post pictures in the next few days and let you all know how he did.
