THE SHADDOX BOYS

Jacob and Elijah Shaddox are brothers. Jacob is 21 years old and just moved into an apartment with his girlfriend. He graduated from a technical college with an Associate's degree in Computer Maintenance. He works for a school district as a computer technician. Elijah is almost 18 years old. He is hearing impaired, has Tourette Syndrome, OCD and ADHD. He is a junior in high school. Elijah lives with his mom Mary and her wife, his stepmom. Mary has a bachelor's in deaf education and a masters in special education, and is an educational diagnostician. Life is always changing and this blog has chronicled many of these changes and will continue to do so!

Elijah's Weekend at Camp

Elijah had an awesome weekend at camp. We dropped him off on Friday afternoon and picked him up on Sunday morning at 11:00. He rode a horse, climbed a TALL rock wall, went fishing, rode in a canoe, ate ice cream and made friends. He did things I never expected he would. I still need to take his camera in to have the film developed, so I 'll be posting more pictures once they are ready.

On Sunday, each cabin read their wishes. Many of them wished that more people would understand Tourette Syndrome. Another wish, was that camp would be a week long! At the end, each cabin had balloons, that they attached their wish to. They then let the balloons go. It was such an awesome sight to see. Elijah didn't want to let his balloon go, but he finally did! He wants to go back again next year!
